Mahir dengan penggunaan keyboard shortcut ni sebenarnya akan menjadikan kita lebih cepat dan cekap  buat kerja tau berbanding dengan guna mouse.  Terdapat banyak shortcut yang kita boleh gunakan dalam Windows XP yang boleh meningkatkan kecekapan penggunaan PC.

Berikut ada beberapa common shortcut yang boleh kita gunakan bila tertinggal mouse kat rumah.

Shortcut Untuk Kegunaan Umum Windows XP

1. Copy :  CTRL+C
2. Cut : CTRL+X
3. Paste :  CTRL+V
4. Undo :  CTRL+Z
5. Delete :  DELETE
6. Delete selected item permanently without placing the item in the Recycle Bin : SHIFT+DELETE
7. Copy selected item : CTRL while dragging an item
8. Create shortcut to selected item :  CTRL+SHIFT while dragging an item
9. Rename selected item :  F2
10. Move the insertion point to the beginning of the next word :  CTRL+RIGHT ARROW
11. Move the insertion point to the beginning of the previous word : CTRL+LEFT ARROW
12. Move the insertion point to the beginning of the next paragraph :  CTRL+DOWN ARROW
13. Move the insertion point to the beginning of the previous paragraph :  CTRL+UP ARROW
14. Highlight a block of text :  CTRL+SHIFT with any of the arrow keys
15. Select more than one item in a window or on the desktop, or select text within a document :  SHIFT with any of the arrow keys
16. Select all :  CTRL+A
17. Search for a file or folder :  F3
18. View properties for the selected item :  ALT+ENTER
19. Close the active item, or quit the active program : ALT+F4
20. Opens the shortcut menu for the active window :  ALT+SPACEBAR
21. Close the active document in programs that allow you to have multiple documents open simultaneously :  CTRL+F4
22. Switch between open items :  ALT+TAB
23. Cycle through items in the order they were opened :  ALT+ESC
24. Cycle through screen elements in a window or on the desktop :  F6
25. Display the Address bar list in My Computer or Windows Explorer :  F4
26. Display the shortcut menu for the selected item : SHIFT+F10
27. Display the System menu for the active window :  ALT+SPACEBAR
28. Display the Start menu :  CTRL+ESC
29. Display the corresponding menu :  ALT+Underlined letter in a menu name
30. Carry out the corresponding command. Underlined letter in a command name on an open menu
31. Activate the menu bar in the active program :  F10
32. Open the next menu to the right, or open a submenu : RIGHT ARROW
33. Open the next menu to the left, or close a submenu :  LEFT ARROW
34. Refresh the active window :  F5
35. View the folder one level up in My Computer or Windows Explorer : BACKSPACE
36. Cancel the current task :  ESC
37. SHIFT when you insert a CD into the CD-ROM drive Prevent the CD from automatically playing.

Common Keyboard Shortcuts

1. [Alt] and [Esc]  : Switch between running applications
2. [Alt] and letter  :  Select menu item by underlined letter
3. [Ctrl] and [Esc]  : Open Program Menu
4. [Ctrl] and [F4]  : Close active document or group windows (does not work with some applications)
5. [Alt] and [F4]  : Quit active application or close current window
6. [Alt] and [-]  : Open Control menu for active document
7. Ctrl] Lft., Rt arrow  : Move cursor forward or back one word
8. Ctrl] Up, Down arrow  : Move cursor forward or back one paragraph
9. [F1]  : Open Help for active application
10. Windows+M  : Minimize all open windows
11. Shift+Windows+M : Undo minimize all open windows
12. Windows+F1  : Open Windows Help
13. Windows+Tab : Cycle through the Taskbar buttons
14. Windows+Break  : Open the System Properties dialog box

Explorer Shortcuts

1. END……. Display the bottom of the active window.
2. HOME……. Display the top of the active window.
3. NUM LOCK+ASTERISK……. on numeric keypad (*) Display all subfolders under the selected folder.
4. NUM LOCK+PLUS SIGN……. on numeric keypad (+) Display the contents of the selected folder.
5. NUM LOCK+MINUS SIGN……. on numeric keypad (-) Collapse the selected folder.
6. LEFT ARROW…… Collapse current selection if it’s expanded, or select parent folder.
7. RIGHT ARROW……. Display current selection if it’s collapsed, or select first subfolder.

Internet Browser

1. Type in u’re adress “google”, then press [Right CTRL] and [Enter] add www. and .com to word and go to it
